We are the parents of Kreios Turner, who is currently in the Plus class in HKILA. Our son was in a “conventional” school from pre-nursery until the middle of Year 1.

Whilst the beginning of his school years was promising, during the later years, he was bullied and although we endeavored to support his previous school, we were undermined and not taken seriously to the point that Kreios had serious emotional and mental trauma from school.

Big groups would cause a lot of emotional breakdowns so he was homeschooled while he worked with child specialists to help with his trauma. After some time, we were recommended to look into HKILA as a school for Kreios by his therapist based on the teacher student ratio, the smaller class sizes, and the flexibility and acceptance of the school with working with children that might need extra support.

Sitting down with the initial interview, we were very impressed with the willingness to keep a very open communication between us and the school, and the accommodation we received on any extra support Kreios needed at that point.

Kreios is now on his third school year in HKILA, and the care and support he has received has been so much more than we could have hoped for in a school environment.

Justine and all the staff have worked tirelessly every single day with us, with Kreios, and any of the extra support he needed at the time to help Kreios feel comfortable and happy in school.

He has gone from the frightened child that had frequent emotional outbursts from the idea of school, to an outspoken, enthusiastic child excited to go to school every day.

We are forever grateful for the love that they have for our son and for the constant support that they have given. Kreios is the confident, happy child he is now because of the school environment HKILA fosters within their walls.
