I have always been a passionate advocate for inclusive education, and I believe that how you teach is equally as important as what you teach. Adapting teaching practice to suit individual needs, for those students that need extra support, or those who are working ahead of their chronological age is essential in any classroom and this flexibility is at the heart of the HKILA approach.

Our small class sizes and high staffing ratio allow us to tailor individual timetables to suit individual needs so that all students are fully supported.

Having witnessed the success of HKILA as we celebrated our 10th year in operation, we expanded our provision to include highly specialised support in the form of our new venture: TailorED@HKILA.

TailorED is a place where students can access any multi-sensory support, speech therapy, ABA therapy and occupational therapy they need to aid their development. For far too long students with additional needs and their families have been unable to access the education they deserve. For many children here in Hong Kong, this will be their first experience of education and I am delighted that we are now able to offer more children their first day of school.

We also introduced our new Online Learning Platform @HOME as a direct response to the current climate in Hong Kong, which challenged the conventional ‘in school’ model for some families.

The Hive@HKILA is our newest education venture. The Hive is a fun and engaging learning environment open to everyone in our community after school hours and during holidays.
